Flagship school redevelopment featuring major temporary façade retention works and a substantial permanent steel frame.

Supersteel became involved at an early stage to design the complex temporary façade retention steelwork needed before the new frame and tower crane could be installed.
The temporary structure exceeded 120 tonnes and enabled the erection of a permanent steel structure exceeding 150 tonnes.
A major challenge was restricted access through narrow streets off a busy high street, requiring particularly careful planning to avoid delay and disruption.
One beam weighed more than 6 tonnes, requiring thorough health and safety planning and a dedicated lift plan to manage the installation safely.
